Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic gastrointestinal condition characterized by altered bowel habits and abdominal pain and discomfort. It is a common, costly, and difficult to treat disorder that also impairs health related quality of life and work productivity.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment For Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
TCM approach IBS on an individual, symptom-by-symptom basis. TCM uses acupuncture by selecting certain acupuncture points along the meridians of the stomach and large intestine, most of which are located along the lateral side of the legs and arms. This causes IBS symptoms to dissipate. Acupuncture helps balance the autonomic nervous system and improves bowel movement. Another important component of treatment is the Chinese herbal formula which I have been very experienced with.
