Tendinitis

Tendinitis is inflammation of a tendon, the band of fibrous tissue that attaches muscles to bone. The condition causes pain, swelling and tenderness near the affected joint, which is worse with movement of that joint and the discomfort interferes with daily life. Tendinitis most commonly occurs around the elbows, shoulders, and knees, but it can also affect the wrists, hips, and heels. It often develops because of overuse or repetitive use.

It is recommended to treat tendinitis with the use of supportive devises such as knee sleeves and wrist braces to immobilize the affected joint, or take anti-inflammatory medication.

Acupuncture Treatment For Tendinitis

Many patients are seeking help from acupuncture which can be beneficial for any type of tendinitis. I have treated many patients successfully with just a few sessions. I insert small acupuncture needles at the remote area for the treatment without putting any of them where the painful areas are. For patients with chronic tendinitis it might take a few sessions for patents to experience relief.
